The Right Moves
1. CONTEST PERIOD
The Right Moves contest (the “Contest”) is held by Hydro-Québec (the “Contest Organizer”). The Contest runs in Québec from December 20, 2017, at 12 :01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time through August 3, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (the “Contest Period”).
2. CONTEST ORGANIZER
For the purposes of the Contest, the Contest Organizer is made up of the sponsor, its subsidiaries including its parent, sister and affiliated companies, retailers, franchisees, advertising and promotional agencies, suppliers of materials and services related to the Contest, of Hydro-Québec, of all partners and sole proprietorships and of all other legal entities directly related to the Contest, as well as their respective employees, agents, mandataries and representatives.
3.1. The Contest is open to Québec residents 18 years of age or over at the time of entering the Contest.
3.2. Employees, agents, mandataries and representatives of the Contest Organizer, its subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and suppliers of products, materials and services related to the Contest, as well as members of their immediate families (brothers, sisters, children, parents), their legal or common-law spouse and any person residing in the same household as such employees, agents, mandataries and representatives are not eligible
4. HOW TO ENTER
To be eligible for the Contest, the participant must answer six quiz questions on the tablets connected to terminals in the Contest Organizer’s booth at certain events taking place during the winter and summer of 2018 The participant must fill out all mandatory fields on the entry form, acknowledge having read the Contest Rules and agree to abide by them and attest that he/she is of legal age at the time of entry.
4.1. Participation on the Contest Web site
Participants must complete the entry forms and include the following information:
- first name(s) and last name
- telephone number
- e-mail address
Participants must also check the box beside I have read and accepted the contest rules and click on Enter.
4.2. Answer the questions and enter the Contest for a chance to win a trip for four people to James Bay
Participants are eligible to win a trip for four people to James Bay by clicking “Next” and answering the quiz questions on tablets connected to terminals in the Contest Organizer’s booth.
Though participants must visit the Organizer’s booth to enter the Contest, no purchase is required.
4.3. Participation limit
Participation limit: one (1) entry per valid e-mail address.
4.4. Contest rules
The draw will be made from eligible entry forms sent before August 8, 2018 at 11:59 p.m.
5. PRIZE DESCRIPTION
One (1) grand prize will be drawn: a two-day (one night) trip for four (4) people to Radisson, including a chartered round-trip flight between Montréal-Trudeau and La Grande-Rivière airports, one (1) night’s accommodation in two (2) standard rooms at Auberge Radisson, all meals and guided tours of the Robert-Bourassa hydroelectric development, La Grande-1 generating station and, weather permitting, Robert-A.-Boyd Park. The grand prize is valued at approximately eight thousand nine hundred dollars ($8,900).
5.1. The following restrictions apply to this trip:
a) All expenses other than those specifically mentioned above will be assumed by the winner and his/her guests, such as travel between the airport of departure and the winner’s and guests’ homes, alcoholic beverages and wine, travel documents, insurance, airport taxes, tips, optional excursions (not mentioned above) and personal expenses.
b) The Contest winner and his/her guests must travel on the weekend of September 8 and 9, 2018. Should the flight to La Grande-Rivière airport be cancelled prior to departure for unforeseen reasons, the Contest Organizer will inform the winner and propose a weekend in 2019.
c) The winner and his/her guests must travel on the same chartered flight.
d) The guided tours of the Robert-Bourassa hydroelectric development, La Grande-1 generating station and Robert-A.-Boyd Park will be organized according to a schedule determined by the Contest Organizer. No compensation will be provided in the event that the tours cannot take place as planned for any reason whatsoever, including bad weather, or if the winner or his/her guests are not present at the agreed-upon time.
e) The approximate value of the prize is based on the average values of air transport, accommodations and meals, which may vary depending on the date of departure. No compensation will be paid nor may any be claimed in this regard.
5.2 The prize may not be exchanged in whole or in part for cash.
6. AWARDING OF PRIZE
6.1. The prize will be drawn at random from all eligible Contest entries in accordance with the conditions described in section 5.
6.2. The random draw to award the prize will be held at 10 a.m. on August 10, 2018, in the offices of the Contest Organizer (Hydro-Québec, 75, boul. René-Lévesque Ouest, 19e étage, Montréal (Québec) H2Z 1A4), in the presence of at least three witnesses.
6.3. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the Contest draw date (see paragraph 6.1).
6.4. To be declared a winner, the participant whose entry form has been randomly drawn must:
6.4.1. Be reached by telephone or e-mail by the Contest Organizer within ten (10) business days of the draw;
6.4.2. Fill out and sign the declaration and release form (the “Declaration Form”) provided by the Contest Organizer, correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, and return the Declaration Form within fifteen (15) business days following its receipt.
6.5. Within four (4) to six (6) weeks of receiving the completed Declaration Form, the Contest Organizer will send the winner the prize.
6.6. The prize must be accepted in its entirety and may not be divided. No substitutions.
6.7. The winner must assume all additional fees incurred related to the use of the prize.
6.8. Failure to comply with any of the conditions set out in these Contest Rules will automatically cause the winner to be declared ineligible and forfeit the prize, which may be cancelled. In all cases, the Contest Organizer reserves the right to hold a new random draw from among eligible entries. Similarly, should a winner refuse to accept the prize, the Contest Organizer may, at its sole discretion, hold a new draw for the prize, until a participant is declared the winner. The same conditions will apply, with any necessary adjustments.
7. GENERAL CONDITIONS
7.1. Entry forms are subject to verification by the Contest Organizer. Any form that is incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, mutilated, altered, lost, late or otherwise noncompliant may be rejected and will not qualify for an entry or a prize.
7.2. Declaration Forms are subject to verification by the Contest Organizer. Any Declaration Form that is incomplete, fraudulent, illegible, mutilated, altered, lost or late, has insufficient postage, does not include the correct answer to the mathematical skill-testing question or is otherwise noncompliant may be rejected and will not qualify for a prize.
7.3. Any decision by the Contest Organizer or its representatives regarding this Contest is final and without appeal, subject to a ruling by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec on any issue under its jurisdiction.
7.4. The Contest Organizer reserves the right to disqualify anyone or to cancel one or more entries by anyone who enters or tries to enter this Contest using methods that do not comply with these Contest Rules or that are unfair to the other entrants.
7.5. The prize must be accepted as described in these Contest Rules and may not be transferred to another person or replaced by another prize.
7.6. The winner will release the Contest Organizer, its subsidiaries, its advertising and promotional agencies, and their employees, agents and representatives from any damage resulting from the acceptance or use of the prize. To be declared the winner, and prior to obtaining his/her prize, the person selected must sign a declaration to this effect on the Declaration Form.
7.7. The winner must acknowledge that the Contest Organizer, its subsidiaries, its advertising and promotional agencies, and their employees, agents and representatives disclaim all liability for the information included on the entry form. 7.8. The Contest Organizer, its subsidiaries, its advertising and promotional agencies, and their employees, agents and representatives disclaim all liability for any of the following that may limit or prevent any participant’s entry in the Contest: malfunctioning of any computer component, software or communications line; loss or lack of a communications network; or any transmission that is faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible or erased by any computer or network. The Contest Organizer, its subsidiaries, its advertising and promotional agencies, and their employees, agents and representatives also disclaim all liability for any damage or loss that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the downloading of any Web page or software or by the transmission of any information related to participation in the Contest.
7.9. The Contest Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend this Contest in whole or in part, or to terminate it, should human intervention or an event take place that could modify or adversely affect the administration, security, impartiality or conduct of the Contest as provided in these Contest Rules, subject to approval by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, if applicable. In no event may the Contest Organizer be required to award more prizes than the number stated in these Contest Rules or award a prize other than in accordance with these Contest rules.
7.10. All persons who enter or attempt to enter this Contest release the Contest Organizer, its subsidiaries, its advertising and promotional agencies and their employees, agents and representatives from any liability for damage that they may incur as a result of entering or attempting to enter the Contest.
7.11. The winner authorizes the Contest Organizer to use, if required, his/her name, photo, likeness, statement regarding the prize, place of residence or voice for publicity purposes, without any form of compensation. The winner must sign a declaration to this effect on the Declaration Form.
7.12. This Contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations. Any dispute regarding the organization or conduct of a promotional contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any dispute regarding the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of attempting to settle it.
7.13. No communications or correspondence concerning the Contest will be exchanged with participants other than as provided in these Contest Rules or at the initiative of the Contest Organizer.
7.14. If any section of these Contest Rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a competent court, that section will be considered invalid, but all unaffected sections will be applied within the limits of the law.
7.15. Personal information gathered by the Contest Organizer as part of this Contest may be used for research, evaluation and investigation purposes. Hydro-Québec may contact participants during a survey or promotion. This information will be handled in accordance with the obligations set out in the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information (CQLR c A-2.1).
7.16. The winner’s name will be released on the Hydro-Québec Web site at http://right-moves.hydroquebec.com/en/winners/ by September 22, 2018 at the latest.
7.17. In case of any discrepancy between the French and English versions of these rules, the French version will prevail.
